On 24 June 2024, H.E. Mr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., together with Ms. Supawadee Yamgamol, Minister (Commercial Affairs), and officials from the Royal Thai Embassy and Office of Commercial Affairs in Washington, met with Ambassador Katherine Tai, United States Trade Representative (USTR), on the occasion of his assumption of duty.

Both sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including cooperation in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Trade and Investment Agreement Framework (TIFA), Intellectual Property (IP) protection, the U.S. Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), and labour rights issues, with a view to promoting trade and investment between Thailand and U.S.
