On June 18, 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington D.C. organized a volunteer activity to promote environment protection to celebrate the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on July 28, 2024, at Theodore Roosevelt Island, an urban forest and a memorial to the late President Theodore Roosevelt.

On this occasion, Ambassador Suriya led officials and staff of Team Thailand, along with members of the Thai community in Washington, D.C., and nearby areas, to remove weeds and organize vine bushes around the island. This effort helped preserve nature and protect the environment in keeping with President Roosevelt’ s legacy as an avid outdoorsman and conservationist.
