On 13 June 2024, Ambassador Suriya Chindawongse met with Rep. Michelle Steel (R-CA), Member of the Committee on Ways and Means and Co-chair of the US-Thai Alliance Caucus to discuss future collaboration under the US-Thai Alliance Caucus, which will help promote greater engagement with Members of Congress and promote Thai culture, as well as trade and investment between the two countries.

Rep. Steel shared her experience working closely with the Thai-American community in the 45th District since 2006 and her desire to promote more participation of the new generation of Thai-Americans in politics.
