On 11 May 2024, Miss Chuliepote Isarankura Na Ayudhaya, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., attended the 39th Annual General Meeting of Dhammayut Order in the U.S., chaired by Somdet PhraMaha Wirawong, members of the the Sangha Supreme Council of Thailand and Secretary-General of Dhammayut Order. Phra Dhamma Vajira Pamokkha, Advisor to the Office of Supervision of Dhammayut Order Abroad and Assistant Secretary-General of Dhammayut Order, Phratep Kittiwimon, Administrator of Dhammayut Sangha in the U.S., Phratep Sarasuthi, Deputy Adminstrator of Dhammayut Sangha in the U.S., Phratep Saramuni, Advisor to the administrator of Dhammayut Sangha in the U.S., and approximately 125 monks of Dhammayut Order from all over the U.S. and Thailand, along with many members of Thai community in Dallas and the surrounding areas, also attended the meeting.

On this occasion, CDA Chuliepote together with representatives of the city of Dallas and Temple Committee members were invited to offer welcoming remarks. The CDA reiterated the significance of Buddhism, Thai Buddhist temples, the Dhammaduta, and monks from Thailand, as they represented spiritual anchors for the Thai nationals in the U.S. Moreover, the monastic community also played a pivotal role in advancing Thai identity and culture abroad.

The meeting was held to discuss problems and challenges facing the Dhammayut Order as well as ways forward in promoting Buddhism and the teaching of Lord Buddha in the U.S.
