The consular team of the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington D.C. provided services to Thai nationals residing in Texas and nearby States at Wat Saddhadhamma Buddhist Temple in Schertz and Wat Buddha Dallas in Dallas, during 4-11 January 2024. The activity drew a large number of Thais from San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, Austin, and neighboring States such as Louisiana, South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Florida.

The services comprised child adoption registration and issuance of emergency travel documents on top of the regular applications and renewals of Thai passports and ID cards. Senior citizens over the age of 70 were offered special assistance to facilitate their visits. In total, 589 persons received passport services, 241 applied for Thai ID cards, 3 requested for the issuance of emergency travel documents, one couple registered for child adoption, and over 20 sought enquiries on various consular matters.

On this occasion, new technologies were introduced to enhance the Embassy’s services including utilization of QR codes for queue management and provision of service details, as well as adoption of AI public announcement system to disseminate information.
