Royal Thai Embassy’s Mobile Consular Service at Buddha Raleigh Temple

During 23-25 August 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy’s consular team in Washington, D.C. organized mobile consular services at Buddha Raleigh Temple in Knightdale, North Carolina. The Consular team facilitated the issuance of new passports and Thai national ID cards, while offering consultations on other consular matters to Thai people in North Carolina, including nearby cities such as Durham, Charlotte, and neighboring states such as South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. A special service day was offered to individuals aged 70 and over during this operation.

On this occasion, Ambassador Suriya Chindawongse joined the consular service team and exchanged views with Thai monks and members of the Thai community. The Ambassador also presented certificates of appreciation to local volunteers who assisted the consular team in this service.

The three-day mobile consular service was successfully conducted with the support of local volunteers including Mr. Surapon Sujjavanich, President of the Thai Association of North Carolina. A total of 222 individuals received services, including 124 passport renewals, 73 Thai National ID card renewals, and 25 consultations on other consular matters.
