On 15 March 2024, Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S. and Ms. Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General in New York met Mr. Mike DeWine, Governor of Ohio, during Ambassador’s official visit to Ohio.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral trade and investment. Ambassador Tanee informed the Governor DeWine about the Bellisio Foods’ (partnered with Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF), a Thai business conglomerate) business plans to introduce more Thai and Asian cuisines, snack foods, and health foods to their production.

In addition, Ambassador also shared the state of Thai-U.S. relations and the Thai Government’s  business and investment priorities.

Ambassador also invited the Governor along with Ohio’s business delegation to visit Thailand to explore further business and investment opportunities.

Ambassador Tanee also expressed condolences on the fatalities from the tornadoes that ripped through Ohio on 14 March 2024.
