On Thursday, February 12, 2026, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the United States, met with Congressman Marlin Stutzman (R-IN), member of the House Committee on Financial Services.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the alliance and strategic partnership between Thailand and the United States and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Thailand and Indiana, focusing on economic and trade collaboration, including purchases for U.S. agricultural and manufactured products in accordance with the Joint Statement on Framework for United States-Thailand Agreement on Reciprocal Trade. They also exchanged views on ways to further enhance Thailand-U.S. cooperation on key sectors, including technology, semiconductors, and energy. Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening intergovernmental collaboration in combating transnational crime, particularly online scam operations, including those perpetrated by online scam centers in Southeast Asia.
On this occasion, the Ambassador conveyed his congratulations to the Indiana Hoosiers on their recent college football national championship victory and looked forward to further deepening cooperation and enhancing people-to-people ties between Thailand and the State of Indiana, as well as visiting Indiana to promote business opportunities and friendship.
