On 17 February 2026, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, met with Mr. Robert Fee, Vice President for Policy, Government, and Public Affairs, Cheniere Energy, the largest producer and exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the U.S.
During the meeting, Ambassador Suriya was informed on the latest developments in LNG cooperation between Cheniere Energy and PTT, following the signing of the long-term LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement in 2022. Discussions also included the First Cargo Delivery Ceremony held on 28 January 2026 at Map Ta Phut Terminal.
Mr. Fee reaffirmed Cheniere Energy’s commitment to further strengthening its partnership with PTT and Thailand. Ambassador Suriya underscored the Thai Government’s priority of enhancing national energy security and highlighted Thailand’s plans to explore enhancing trade on LNG products with the U.S. in line with the Joint Statement on a Framework for a United States-Thailand Agreement on Reciprocal Trade.
