On 13 February 2026, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, hosted a reception for Thai and Thai-American students in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area, as well as students from other states including Pennsylvania, New York and California.

Over 40 participants, ranging from undergraduate to Ph.D. level, from institutions such as Columbia University, Georgetown University, George Mason University, George Washington University, Johns Hopkins University, Montgomery College, University of California, Los Angeles, and University of Maryland, College Park attended the event.

The Ambassador encouraged students to take this opportunity to network among one another, stay connected, take pride in representing Thailand abroad, and to make the most of their academic pursuits and cross-cultural experiences.
