Representatives of the University of Alabama visited the Embassy

On 23 April 2024, Ms. Chuliepote Isarankura Na Ayudhaya, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Mrs. Pajita Diskul Na Ayudhya, Minister (Educational Affairs), and Mr. Thitidej Tularak, Minister-Counsellor (Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation) welcomed a delegation from the University of Alabama (UA), Tuscaloosa, which included Mr. Jim Landers, Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions, Dr. Andrew Goodliffe, Associate Dean for Graduate Admissions, Recruitment, and Fellowships, and Ms. Michelle Awondo, Assistant Director of International Undergraduate Admissions and Recruitment.

Both sides discussed UA programs, admission processes, and scholarship/funding opportunities for Thai students. The Embassy also briefed UA representatives on the Royal Thai Government’s scholarships and offered further cooperation on an information exchange concerning UA programs and financial assistance opportunities for Thai students.

The University of Alabama is among the U.S. participating institutions in the International Academic Partnership Program - Thailand and the United States (IPAA Thailand), a year-long initiative to support U.S. and Thai institutions to create new partnerships and expand existing linkages sponsored by the Institute of International Education (IIE) and the U.S. Embassy, Bangkok, Thailand. The Royal Thai Embassy is a member of the IPAA Thailand’s Advisory Board.
