On 17 April 2024, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat visited Timber Lane Elementary School in Falls Church, Virginia, to observe a Muay Thai Demonstration session by Master Chon (Thanat Yingwitthayakhun), Head Muay Thai instructor and co-founder of the Little Giant Muay Thai Gym.

On this occasion, Ambassador Tanee gave an introduction on various benefits of Muay Thai training, which included promoting good physical health, improving focus and learning skills, and entertaining and suitable for all ages. Muay Thai training can be designed for various age groups as well as accommodate those with physical limitations or those seeking physical rehabilitation.

Master Chon demonstrated Muay Thai to the Timber Lane Elementary School students, teachers, and parents. Many students were interested and had an opportunity to try Muay Thai training with Master Chon and his assistant.

The Ambassador also discussed with Mr. Benjamin Chiet, Principal, and Mr. Dave Moya, Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) President, the Embassy’s readiness to support Timber Lane Elementary School and other interested schools in DMV area on Muay Thai classes as well as Thai culture learning opportunities for students.
