On 25 July 2025, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, presided over a ceremony at the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. to commemorate the birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua. The ceremony included the offering of a floral tribute and homage in front of His Majesty’s portrait, a recital of the oath of allegiance by embassy officials to reaffirm their dedication as loyal civil servants, and the signing of a book of well wishes for His Majesty’s continued well-being and prosperity. The event was attended by Team Thailand officials and their spouses.

On the following day, 26 July 2025, Ambassador Chindawongse led a religious merit-making ceremony at Wat Tummaprateip, Washington, D.C., which included the chanting of Buddhist scriptures and the offering of meals to monks. In addition, a charity food stall was set up as part of the Embassy’s volunteer activity, serving as a tribute of merit to His Majesty the King. The event was joined by heads and members of Team Thailand agencies, embassy officials and spouses, as well as members of the Thai community from Washington, D.C. and neighboring states.
