On 6 July 2025, Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, met with the Thai Women’s National Volleyball Team in Dallas to extend his warm welcome and encouragement as the team prepared to compete in the FIVB Volleyball Nations League in Arlington, Texas.Ambassador Suriya praised the athletes for their role as cultural ambassadors, representing Thailand with pride while strengthening international ties and promoting
greater global recognition of the Thai nation.
During the visit, the Ambassador observed the team’s practice session at Plano High School and hosted a dinner in honor of the athletes, coaching staff, team officials, and representative of the Thai-American community who came to support the team.
He also met with Mr. Phansak Sriphen, President of the North Texas Thai Association, to discuss the recent flooding in central Texas. The Ambassador expressed his heartfelt condolences regarding the disaster and noted that, as of now, no casualties or fatalities among Thai nationals have been reported, while asking the Thai community to monitor the situation and to extend appropriate assistance to the local and state authorities if requested.
