This Valentine’s Day, the Thai Ambassador’s Residence Chef, Mr. Wattanaphong Kongwattana, and his team participate in the creation of a promotional video for the 'Embassy Chef Challenge' by Events DC, in collaboration with Giant grocery store chain at the Residence of the Thai Ambassador.

Chef Wattanaphong prepared two dishes to be presented at the competition, including Thai Massaman curry which topped CNN’s World's 50 Best Foods and spicy shrimp salad. The chef also gave an interview on his inspirations, his uniqueness and his work at the Residence.  Residence staff also showcased the art of fruit carving, which is essential for plating Thai dishes as Thais pay attention not only to the taste of our food but also its presentation and visual allure.

The team is determined to regain our title this year after their predecessor won the title in 2014, when a Thai residence chef took part in the Embassy Chef Challenge for the first time.
