On 11 September 2025, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, accompanied by Ms. Somjai Taphaopong, Consul-General of Thailand in New York, and officials from the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. and Royal Thai Consulate-General in New York, met with Professor Sunil Kumar, President of Tufts University.

The meeting highlighted the longstanding academic ties between Thailand and Tufts University, with discussions focused on exploring future collaboration in student exchange, joint academic initiatives, and knowledge sharing.

In addition, Ambassador Suriya also conveyed his appreciation for the university’s continued support for Thai students and expressed hope for enhanced educational cooperation between Tufts University and institutions in Thailand.
