Ambassador Tanee Sangrat promotes Thai-U.S. cultural and educational exchanges

On 21 March 2024, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat hosted a dinner reception in honor of Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand, and Chairman of AFS Intercultural Programs Thailand (AFS-Thailand). Among the guests were Mrs. Tara Boyce-Hofmann, President and Partner Director, AFS Intercultural Programs USA (AFS-USA), returnees and current exchange students from AFS-USA, AFS-Thailand and YES Program, Board Members and staff of AFS-USA and AFS-Thailand, as well as representatives from U.S. Chamber of Commerce (USCC) and US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC).

The Ambassador emphasized the importance of cultural and educational exchanges that bring the young generations of all nations closer together to foster more understanding of the increasingly interconnected world, and advance international goodwill and friendship.

The Ambassador also reiterated the Embassy’s continued support to cultural and educational exchanges programs as well as the Embassy’s collaboration with AFS and AFS returnees from Thailand to promote understanding of Thailand and the Thai culture in the United States.
