On 7 November 2023, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat met with Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-CA), Member of the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and House Committee on Financial Services. Both sides discussed cooperation on trade, energy and security as well as U.S. approach in the Indo-Pacific region.

Rep. Torres visited Thailand as part of the U.S. Congressional delegation on 3 August 2023 and emphasized that Thailand has been a great partner to the U.S. and would like to co-sponsor the House resolution to commemorate the 190th Anniversary of Thai-US diplomatic relations.
