On 2 November 2023, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat met with Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), Ranking Member, Subcommittee on Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection, where both sides discussed US-Thai relations on the occasion of the 190th Anniversary of Thai-US diplomatic relations, US-China competition and trade and investment promotion.

On the issue of the Israel-Hamas conflict, Congressman Swalwell expressed his sympathy for many Thai citizens that are currently being held hostages. Moreover, Rep. Swalwell thanked Thailand for being a strong military partner and a travel destination, and was pleased to join the US-Thai Alliance Caucus as a support for the Thai-US partnership.
