On 7 May 2025, Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, attended the U.S. Senate Reception on Combating Child Trafficking and Exploitation, featuring Senator John Cornyn (R-TX). The event was organized by KVG, Buckner, and the International Justice Mission and held at the Russell Senate Office Building.

During the event, Senator John Cornyn, Congressman Michael McCaul (R-TX), and Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ) delivered remarks on the importance of combating human trafficking. Also in attendance were Ambassador Cindy Dyer, members of the Diplomatic Corps in Washington, D.C., as well as representatives from the U.S. Government, private sector and NGOs.

On this occasion, Ambassador Suriya reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to fully cooperate with the United States in combating human trafficking and emphasized Thailand’s continued commitment to addressing this important issue.
