On 5 May 2025, Ms. Chuliepote Isarankura Na Ayudhaya, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C., along with Ms. Pemikar Lusananon, Counsellor, Cultural and Press Attaché, attended the Fashioning Power, Fashioning Peace exhibition and gala reception at the President Woodrow Wilson House in Washington, D.C.

The annual event, organized in honor of the late Ambassador Esther Coopersmith who was one of our Friends of Thailand, showcases innovative fashion pieces by contemporary designers who shape the public image of today’s diplomats and global leaders. By highlighting the role of fashion in diplomacy, the exhibition fosters dialogue on peace, cultural identity, and global influence.

Among the standout pieces on display this year was the Thai silk dress worn by Mrs. Kokan Sangiampongsa, the spouse of H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, at the prestigious Gala Dinner for the Prince Mahidol Award Laureates 2024, honoring the individuals who have demonstrated outstanding and exemplary contributions to the advancement of the world’s medical and public health services. The dress was featured for its exceptional craftsmanship and cultural significance.

This breathtaking gown embodies the timeless elegance of Thai silk. Meticulously crafted, the design highlights the artistry of local Thai weavers and pays tribute to Thailand’s rich textile heritage. The shimmering silk fabric, adorned with the Soi Dok Mak pattern - an ancient motif from Maha Sarakham Province - reflects the enduring traditions passed down through generations. Once nearly lost to time, this intricate pattern has been revitalized as a symbol of regional and national pride.

Moreover, on 8 May 2025, DCM Chuliepote invited spouses of Team Thailand in Washington D.C. to the exhibition to support the week-long exhibition, ending on 10 May 2025.
