During 21-23 February 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy’s consular team from Washington, D.C. organized mobile consular services at Wat Buddhananachat of Austin, Texas. The consular team facilitated the issuance of new passports and Thai national ID cards, and provided consultations on a range of consular matters, including applications for Thai birth certificates, certification of official Thai documents, and powers of attorney.
These services were offered to Thai nationals living in Austin and nearby cities such as Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio, as well as to Thais from neighboring states including Louisiana and Kansas, who traveled to Austin to take advantage of the services.
On 21 February 2025, a special walk-in service was provided exclusively for senior Thai citizens aged 70 and above.
On this occasion, Ambassador Suriya Chindawongse visited Wat Buddhananachat of Austin to observe the services and engage with members of the Thai community. The Ambassador also paid a courtesy call to the Abbot and monastic members of Wat Buddhananachat of Austin and made a donation to support the temple.
The mobile consular service was successfully conducted with the support of Wat Buddhananachat of Austin and local volunteers. In total, 499 individuals received consular services, including:
