On 11 March 2025, Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the US, presided over the ceremony to receive the Buddha statue "Phra Phuttha Sirindhorn Theprattan Mongkhon Phuwadon Santi" bestowed upon by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The event was attended by all Heads and Officials of respective Thai agencies in Washington, D.C.
"Phra Phuttha Sirindhorn Theprattan Mongkhon Phuwadon Santi" is a 20-inch-tall, 10-kilogram metal Buddha statue in the "Leela" (walking) posture. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over its consecration ceremony at the ordination hall of Wat Suthatthepwararam on 22 July 2023. Her Royal Highness graciously bestowed these statues upon various Thai institutions in Thailand and overseas, with the noble intention of bringing "auspiciousness, happiness and well-being and for the prosperity of our nation, religions, the Monarchy, the Thai people and the people of the world".
