On 5 August 2025, Ambassador Suriya Chindawongse led Team Thailand officials and the Embassy staff in Washington, D.C, in a volunteer activity to mark the Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, on 12 August 2025. The activity included donating educational materials, snacks, and beverages to the Wat Thai Washington, D.C. School, which offers free instruction in the Thai language, music, and culture to Thai-American children and youth in Washington, D.C., and nearby areas.

The Ambassador and the delegation were warmly welcomed by the school’s teachers and students, and had the opportunity to meet and exchange views in a friendly atmosphere.

On 10 August 2025, Captain Peerapong Yoosiri, Naval Attaché, Captain Prachya Tippayarat, Air Attaché, and Miss Adhinand Indrapim, Minister (Agricultural) presided over Buddhist merit-making ceremonies and chanting services in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s birthday at Wat Thai Washington, D.C.; Wat Yarnrangsri, Washington D.C.–Virginia; and Wat Thammaprateep, Washington, D.C., respectively.

At each event, representatives led Thai associations, the Thai community, and foreign guests in offering respects and laying floral tributes before Her Majesty’s portrait. Participants also made merit by offering food to the monks, and joined Mother’s Day activities, including Thai music performances, singing of Mother’s Day songs, drawing contests, and the presentation of “Outstanding Mother” awards.
