On May 13, 2025, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, participated in an event titled “U.S.-Thailand Collaboration: Networking for Future Business Opportunities,” organized by the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), New York Office, in collaboration with the Washington DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) during the Thai delegation’s visit to Washington, D.C. for the 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit. The event aimed to promote two-way investment, strengthen economic partnerships between Thailand and the United States, and underscored that Thailand’s investment in the U.S. and partnership is a quick win for the two countries.
The event served as a key platform for information exchange and business networking, attracting over 40 participants. Attendees included representatives from the U.S. private sector, local government, legal and consulting firms, importers, and Thai companies with existing or planned investments in the U.S. The event also welcomed a high-level Thai business delegation participating in the 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit, featuring prominent corporations such as CP Group, PTT, Indorama, Thai Union, and Thai Summit.
Ambassador Chindawongse took the opportunity to emphasize Thailand’s commitment to a mutually beneficial, “win-win” economic partnership with the U.S. He highlighted three defining features of the Thailand–U.S. economic partnership, encapsulated by the acronym “USA”: Unified Commitment, Sustainable Investment, and an All-In Approach to long-term cooperation.
The program featured a diverse panel of speakers, including representatives from the Washington DC Economic Partnership, leading law firms, site selection consultants, and a major U.S. distributor of restaurant supplies and equipment. These experts provided insights into the U.S. business environment, regulatory frameworks, and practical strategies for overcoming challenges faced by foreign investors. Additionally, a successful Thai company operating in the U.S. shared its business journey, while a Thai startup selected to pitch at SelectUSA 2025 was introduced, showcasing its innovation and ambition to expand into the American market.
The event reaffirmed Thailand’s strong commitment to investing in the United States and strengthening long-term business and innovation partnerships across sectors going forward.
