Ambassador Suriya Chindawongse meets with leading Thai energy companies to advance Thailand-U.S. energy cooperation

During the 2025 SelectUSA Investment Summit held in May 2025, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., met with executives of three leading Thai energy companies participating in the Summit, which include (1) EGCO Group, led by Professor Dr. Anya Khanthavit, Independent Director and Member of Audit Committee, (2) PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), led by Mr. Titi Thongjen, Executive Vice President, International Production Asset Group, (3) Banpu Power Public Company Limited, led by Mr. Christopher Kalnin, CEO of BKV Corporation, and Dr. Paul Didsayabutra, Senior Vice President, Power Business USA.
During the meetings, Ambassador Suriya was briefed on each company’s ongoing energy-related investments in the United States. Both sides also discussed ways to further enhance Thailand-U.S. energy cooperation, including potential plans to expand energy imports from the U.S. This would support Thailand’s long-term energy security and help promote a more balanced trade relationship with the U.S.
Ambassador Suriya commended the companies for their continued investments in the U.S. energy sector, emphasizing their important role in fostering a closer Thailand-U.S. economic partnership moving forward.
