On 22 December 2022, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat met with Mr. Rick Duke, Deputy Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, to exchange views on ways Thailand and the US can collaborate to achieve our climate goals and work towards the successful and meaningful COP28 next year.

Deputy SPEC expressed the US’ readiness to support Thailand’s path towards the climate goal, especially in the areas of renewable energy, electronic vehicles (EV), and emission reduction in agricultural sector. Ambassador Tanee also reiterated Thailand’s APEC’s host year theme of “Open, Connect, Balance”, especially on the Balance part where we look to our partners for continuation and further cooperation.
