On 11 August 2023, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat led a staff delegation from the US Congress to call on Mrs. Pikulkaew Krairiksh, Chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Sathit Limpongpan, President of the Thailand-United States Parliamentarians’ Friendship Group. This meeting took place on the occasion of the delegation’s visit to Thailand under the Embassy’s 2023 Congressional Staff Delegation’s Visit Program.

Both sides held extensive discussions and exchange views on bilateral relations while exploring ways to enhance cooperation on the occasion of the 190th anniversary of Thai-US diplomatic relations.  Other topics of discussions were regional situation and international issues, including situation in Myanmar, US-China relations, and dissemination of fake news and misinformation.
