On 10 February 2023, Ms. Chuliepote Isarankura Na Ayudhaya, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), welcomed 5 Thai language and cultural instructors from the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), U.S. Department of State, and 12 foreign service officers who are currently studying the Thai language before their postings in Thailand (Bangkok and Chiang Mai). Ms. Waramon Waruttama, Minister Counsellor (HOC), Ms. Pimpen Thanakhun, Minister Counsellor (Security), Ms. Thanatta Suwanpiboon, Counsellor (Agriculture) and the diplomatic officers from the cultural affairs, political and security, economic, and consular affairs sections at the Embassy also participated in the welcoming session.

DCM Chuliepote greeted, congratulated, and gave advice to American foreign service officers who are going to be posted in Thailand to use it as an opportunity to learn more about Thailand and the region and to travel and experience diverse cuisine, culture and natural beauty all over the country.  The Embassy also presented short vdo clips from the Tourism Authority of Thailand on post-COVID tourism and the Thai way of life.  On this occasion, the U.S. diplomatic officers introduced themselves and asked questions about Thailand in Thai in order to practise their Thai. After that, the officers were divided into 4 groups to network with their Thai counterparts in the political, economic, public affairs and consular sections. The Embassy prepared Thai snacks: Miang Kham (leaf-wrapped herbal salad bites), Sai Krok Isan (Northeastern-style fermented pork sausages), and Pumpkin in Coconut Milk for the delegation to try and presented Thai curry cooking kits for each visitor to try their hand at cooking Thai food at home.
