On 2 July 2024, U.S.-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) hosted a welcome luncheon for Ambassador Suriya Chindawongse on the occasion of his assumption of duties. Representatives from the U.S government, private sector, think tanks as well as the Embassies of ASEAN Member States also attended the luncheon.

At the event, Ambassador Suriya delivered keynote remarks, reaffirming his commitment to further strengthen the long-standing Thailand-U.S. bilateral relations and addressing the Thai Government’s visions and policies, such as IGNITE Thailand, the Landbridge Project, the advancement of the digital economy, investment in key strategic industries, tourism promotion, and FTA negotiations, which are crucial for improving Thailand’s competitiveness. He also expressed Thailand’s readiness to work with the U.S., as a reliable partner and ally, to achieve economic growth, people-centric, planet-centric, sustainable, and environmentally friendly development.
