On 14 April 2024, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat and Mrs. Chonlatip Kambhu Sangrat presided over Songkran Day ceremony at Wat Thai Washington D.C. The couple joined devout buddhists in performing Songkran rituals including buddha bathing, praying, pouring scented-water on the elderlies, and practicing dharma. They also watched cultural performances while greeting Thai food vendors who were selling Thai delicacies at the event.

Ambassador Tanee and Mrs. Cholatip took this opportunity to pay respect and bid farewell to Phra Rajmongkolrangsi (Laung Ta Chi), Abbot of the temple, upon the Ambassador’s completion of tenure in the United States and transferral to South Korea.

Subsequetly, Ambassador Tanee and Mrs. Cholatip visited Wat Yarnna Rangsee, to participate in another Songkran Day ceremony and activities, to celebrate Thai New Year. The event was presided over by GP. CAPT. Prachya Tippayarat, Air Attaché, in the morning.
