On 26 September 2023, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., delivered keynote remarks along with other prominent U.S. Representatives including Nancy Pelosi (CA-11), Edward Case (HI-1) and Richard Larsen (WA-2), and high-level officials and executives from the White House, the Department of State, the National Center for APEC, and leading U.S. companies, at the official launch of “APEC Matters for America/America Matters for APEC Publication” organized by the East-West Center at the Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

In his remarks, Ambassador Tanee expressed his appreciation to the U.S. government for placing sustainability as the key theme for the U.S. host year and assured Thailand’s full support for the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders' Week (AELW) in San Francisco in November.  Ambassador Tanee also welcomed the BCG Pledge initiated by the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), which demonstrated the commitment of the business community in APEC to implement practical and ambitious actions to advance the Bangkok Goals on BCG Economy. He looked forward to the first Sustainable Future Forum, as well as the announcement of the inaugural winners of the APEC BCG Award at the end of this year.

On this occasion, the Ambassador also gave a brief summary on the recent visit of the Prime Minister of Thailand to New York, USA, to attend the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly while elaborating on his policies and priorities. Importantly, the Ambassador informed the participants that the Prime Minister had confirmed his attendance for the AELW in San Francisco in November this year.
