On 5 December 2022, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Appointed Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., welcomed Mr. Somkid Praditseree, Senior Executive Vice President of EGAT International (EGAT) who visited the US to explore opportunities and discuss renewable energy with U.S. agencies.

On this occasion, Ms. Chuliepote Isarankura Na Ayudhaya, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission, joined Senator Angus King from Maine in witnessing the MOU signing between EGATi and Convalt Energy, U.S developer of renewable energy, which provides the cooperation framework between the two parties in renewable energy development including solar farming for communities and solar panel manufacturing in the U.S., solar farming in Laos and other potential projects.

This collaboration is one of the deliverables from the 2nd US-Thailand Energy Policy Dialogue held in February 2022 which has paved the way for the cooperation between Thailand and the U.S. in energy sector, particularly in clean energy.
