On 12 January 2023, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat called on Congresswoman Young Kim, where both sides discussed and exchanged views on US-Thai relations and cooperation such as trade and investments, the 190th Anniversary of US-Thai diplomatic relations in 2023, Mekong-US Partnership, the establishment of US-Thai Alliance Caucus and the promotion of Thai Boxing in Orange County, San Bernardino, and Riverside.

Congresswoman Young Kim expressed her willingness to support the Embassy where she could as well as expressed her interest in including Thai boxing in the schools’ curriculum in her district.

Congresswoman Young Kim participated in the Embassy’s Congressional Staff Delegation to Thailand in 2012.
