H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, visited the International Civil Rights Center and Museum in Greensboro, North Carolina, on 9 October 2024, and exchanged views with the Center’s CEO and research staff on the important contributions of the U.S. Civil Rights Movement. The Ambassador commended the Center for its role in promoting greater awareness of the Civil Rights Movement and commemorating the role of students in promoting civil rights in Greensboro in the 1960s. Just a few hours earlier, Thailand was elected by the United Nations to the Human Rights Council, and the Ambassador was thus congratulated by the Center for this significant achievement.
