On 8–9 April 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C., led by Mr. Jak Sangchai, Chargé d'Affaires (CDA), welcomed two student delegations from leading U.S. universities to the Embassy as part of its student outreach and educational collaboration efforts.

On 8 April 2026, the CDA held a discussion with a group of 20 students from Georgetown University under the program organized by the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs and the Georgetown Thai Student Association. On 9 April 2026, the CDA received a group of 23 students from the University of North Carolina (UNC), led by Ambassador William H. Itoh, as part of the University’s Honors Seminar on Public Policy and Global Affairs in Washington, D.C. Program. The CDA highlighted the long-standing diplomatic relations of 193 years between Thailand and the United States, and that Thailand joins the United States in celebrating 250 years of its independence.

The Embassy continues its commitment to strengthening academic collaboration and fostering closer people-to-people ties between Thailand and the United States.
