On 16 August 2024, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse,  Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., along with Miss Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, Mr. Nanthapol Sudbanthad, Director of Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) New York Office, and Mr. Thitidej Tularak, Minister-Counsellor (Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation) at the Royal Thai Embassy, visited the Carnegie Science Center to study and explore innovation and skills upgrading ideas. The delegation discussed with the Director of the Center various best practices on innovation, focusing on the Center’s cutting-edge fabrication lab.  This lab offers public visitors, including children, the opportunity to engage in STEM activities through workshops that allow them to create and design projects using digital fabrication technologies.

Following their visit to the Carnegie Science Center, Ambassador Suriya and his delegation met with Mr. Andy Mecs, President of Chicken of the Sea International (COSI), a subsidiary of the Thai Union Group, along with the company’s executives at the COSI office in Pittsburgh. The delegation received a briefing on COSI’s history and current business operations, as well as discussed ways to promote support for Thai companies in the U.S.
