Ambassador Suriya Chindawongse was invited to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on 19-22 August and attended the various sessions, listening to important statements by Vice President Kamala Harris, Gov. Tim Walz, Barack and Michelle Obama and Senator Tammy Duckworth, amongst others. The Ambassador also attended the Democratic Party’s activities outside the United Center, including Wrigley Field, the home of the Cubs, and was invited to give a keynote speech on Thai-ASEAN-US Partnership at the University of Chicago. This participation reflects Thailand’s engagement with various U.S. political parties and stakeholders to promote the mutual interests of the Thai and American people.
