Today (10 Jan 2023), H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, was invited by Asia Society and National Center for APEC to virtually deliver opening remarks at APEC 2023 Forum: Creating a Resilient and Sustainable Future Amidst Global Disruption, which was held at Asia Society office, New York.

On this occasion, Ambassador Tanee announced significant outcomes of APEC Thailand 2022 including, (1) Leaders’ endorsement of the Bangkok Goals on BCG Economy (2) Reestablishment of the conversation on the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP) after COVID-19 especially a multi-year workplan on the FTAAP Agenda (3) Establishment of APEC Safe Passage Taskforce (4) Hosting 8 Ministerial meetings on important sectors and (5) Consensus on the AMM Joint Statement and the Leaders’ Declaration.

Ambassador Tanee emphasized that Thailand supports and welcomes the US APEC host year and looks forward to working closely with the U.S. to put forward Thailand’s deliverables including the implementation of the Bangkok Goals through APEC different working groups, the nomination process for the APEC BCG Award and the implementation of the multi-year workplan on the FTAAP agenda.
