Ambassador Tanee met with U.S. Department of Energy to strengthen Thai-U.S. cooperation on energy

Today (6 Jan 2023), Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S. and officials from the Royal Thai Embassy, met with Mr. Andrew Light, Assistant Secretary of Energy for International Affairs, U.S. Department of Energy.

Both sides discussed the upcoming visit to the U.S. of Mr. Supattanapong Phanmeechaow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Thailand.

Ambassador Tanee emphasized Thailand’s readiness to participate in the 3rd Thai-U.S. Energy Policy Dialogue and to work with the U.S. to put the Clean Energy Demand Initiative (CEDI) into action. And as one of the latest partners of Net Zero World Initiative, Thailand looks forward to working closely with the U.S. towards net-zero goal.

Mr. Andrew Light thanked Thailand for supporting energy cooperation and invited the Minister of Energy of Thailand to attend the APEC Energy Minister Meeting (EMM), which will be held in August in Seattle this year.
