On 18 July 2025, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., along with Embassy team visited Wake Forest University to explore academic and research collaborations, focusing in the fields of artificial intelligence and innovation.

The visit was led by Mr. David L. Carroll, Professor of Physics and Director of NanoteQ, and included a team of faculty members, research assistants, and representatives from the Office of the Provost. The delegation introduced the Ambassador, representatives of Team Thailand and Embassy staff to the university’s cutting-edge AI and innovation labs, presenting ongoing research with potential applications for Thailand.

The visit also emphasized Wake Forest University’s existing collaboration with Chiang Mai University and discussed opportunities to expand this partnership. The Thai delegation received first-hand insights through guided tours of the research laboratories and key facilities on campus, and engaged directly with researchers to better understand the real-world impact of their work.
