On 31 October 2023, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat met with Senator Michael Crapo (R-ID), Ranking Member, Committee on Finance and Member of the Committee on Budget. Both sides discussed US-Thai relations on the occasion of the 190th Anniversary of Thai-US diplomatic relations and issues concerning the promotion of FTA and GSP renewal.

Senator Crapo is a fan of Thai food and led the Senate delegation to Thailand in May 2023.
