Ambassador Suriya Chindawongse attends the NVA Thai Street Food & Culture Festival

On 4 August 2024, Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., attended the NVA Thai Street Food & Culture Festival at the Manassas Museum, Manassas, VA.

In his remarks, Ambassador Suriya congratulated and commended the founders and organizers of this event for the hard work and dedication in successfully organizing this event to promote Thainess to the community. Ambassador Suriya greeted participating vendors, tasted authentic Thai food and desserts and participated in the traditional Thai singing and dancing performances along with the performers. 

Mrs. Tannia Talento, Regional Director Office of U.S. Senator Mark R. Warner of Virginia and Ms. Cindy Shao, President of the Asian American Chamber of Commerce, also attended the event, in which Ambassador Suriya had the opportunity to discuss various ideas for enhanced cultural cooperation between Thailand and the U.S., especially in the DMV area.

This Festival is held twice a month at the Manassas Museum, Manassas, VA. The theme of the event changes each time, rotating among the different festivals and regions of Thailand. The theme on Sunday, 4 August 2024, was Northeastern or “Esan” style.
