On 1 December 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy organized a blessing and alms-giving ceremony on the Occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day of Thailand, and Thailand’s Father’s Day 5 December 2024 at Wat Thai Washington, D.C.

The ceremony was presided over by Ambassador Suriya Chindawongse, with participation from Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand officials, staff, and family members, as well as Thai communities in Washington, D.C. and nearby areas. Erika L. Moritsugu, Deputy Assistant to the President, also joined the ceremony in her private capacity.

The Ambassador gave a citation honoring His Majesty’s extraordinary contribution to the Thai people and led the observation of 89 seconds of silence in remembrance of His Majesty.
