Renunciation of Thai Citizenship (ภาษาไทย)

 

Required Documents for Renunciation of Thai Citizenship

1. A letter of employment from the company, along with two copies and a Thai language translation (if any)

2. An original Thai Birth Certificate and two copies

3. A Marriage certificate and two copies (if any)

4. A Thai passport and two copies.

5. A Thai national ID card and two copies

6. An educational certificate along with two copies (if any)

7. Two copies of a Thai house registration

8. Two copies of the first name change certificate and two copies of the last name change certificate (if any)

9. A Passport and Thai national ID card of the witness along with two copies.

10. 12 photographs of the applicants size 2"x2"

11. 6 photographs each of the father and mother

12. A Thai passport or national ID card of the father and mother

13. Two copies of the U.S. passport, along with two copies of the Naturalization Certificate or U.S. Birth Certificate, which have been certified by the Department of State and translated into Thai, with certified translations from the Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General. 

14. A fee of 1 USD for the renunciation of Thai citizenship (to be paid in cash).

 

The Process of Submitting a Request to Renounce Thai Citizenship

1. Individuals who wish to request this service must submit copies of the required documents for renouncing Thai citizenship (as specified above) to officers for verification via email at [email protected] at least 10 business days in advance.

2. After the officers have confirmed the accuracy of the documents, they will request that the applicant for Thai citizenship renunciation submit the original documents by mail to the officers at the Consular Section of the Royal Thai Embassy at the following address:
