2.4 Please note that civil registration and family registration documents are standard government forms. Applicants can download and print these forms from the Embassy's website under Consular Forms menu and scroll down to the Translation Forms. Applicants can also use the translation forms of the Thai official documents provided by the Department of Consular Affairs in Thailand directly by clicking HERE

3. Recommendations for Translating Documents

3.1 Translations of documents must be accurate and complete according to the original form and cannot be summarized.

3.2 Names and lastnames appearing in the document must be spelled correctly as they appear on the passport.

3.3 If the document includes additional notes or corrections, these must also be translated. For example, if a child's name has been amended and recorded on the back of the birth certificate, that amendment should also be translated.

3.4 The translation must be typed neatly and should not be handwritten. The translator must sign to certify the accuracy of the translation.

Warning: Anyone who creates a false document, whether in full or in part, adds to, alters, or removes content from an original document, or uses a fake stamp or signature in a way that could cause harm to others or the public, and does so with the intent to deceive someone into believing it is genuine, will be guilty of document forgery. The penalty for this offense is imprisonment for up to three years, a fine of up to six thousand baht, or both. Furthermore, if someone writes on a piece of paper or other object with another person's signature without consent or in violation of another's order, and uses the document in a way that could cause harm to others, such actions will also be considered document forgery, subject to the same penalties (refer to the Criminal Code, Section 264).
