On 23 Jan 2023, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the U.S., Ms. Chuliepote Isarankura Na Ayudhaya, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission, Ms. Supawadee Yamgamol, Minister (Commercial), Mrs. Krissana Sukhumparnich, Minister (Agricultural) and officials from Team Thailand, visited Eastland Food Corporation in Jessup, Maryland. The Ambassador and his team were welcomed by Mr. Oscar Mekhaya, President of Eastland Food Corporation.
Mr. Mekhaya gave a briefing on the company’s business operations focusing on importing food products from Thailand to the U.S. The Ambassador expressed his readiness to support the company’s business in the U.S. and invited the compaty to take part in the Embassy’s activities to commemorate the 190th Anniversary of US-Thai diplomatic relations this year which was fully welcomed by Mr. Mekhaya.
Mr. Mekhaya suggested that Thai manufacturers and exporters study and comply with US food safety standards and traceability. The Embassy and Team Thailand will therefore consider ways and activities that will enhance capability of Thai manufacturers and exporters.
