On 21 August 2026, Mr. Jak Sangchai, Charge d’Affaires, and Ms. Pamornpan Wong-Ngoen, Minister (Education), Office of Educational Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy, Washington, D.C., paid respect to Phrakhru Sirisittivites, Vice President of the Board of Wat Thai Washington, D.C., and welcomed the Summer School Program volunteer teachers and one-year volunteer teachers of the 42nd cohort for the 2026 academic year, accompanied by Associate Professor Kavisara Ratanakorn, Director of the Center for the Promotion of Thai Language and Thai Culture Teaching Abroad, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, and Mrs. Phanomrat Mookkung, President of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Wat Thai Washington, D.C., at the Embassy on the occasion of the completion of volunteer teachers’ mission to teach Thai language and Thai culture under the Thai Language and Thai Culture Teaching Abroad Summer Program, from 1 June to 31 August 2026, for students of the Wat Thai Washington, D.C. Summer School Program of the 2026 academic year.

          The Charge d’Affaires commended Wat Thai Washington, D.C. Summer School and all relevant parties for their efforts to promote knowledge of Thai language, religion and culture among Thai-American youth in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia, as well as to strengthen the Thai community in the United States. He also presented certificates of appreciation from the Embassy to the six volunteer teachers, as well as the President of the PTA of Wat Thai Washington, D.C., in recognition of and appreciation for the volunteer teachers’ dedication and commitment. The Thai Language and Thai Culture Teaching Abroad Summer Program is a collaboration between Wat Thai Washington, D.C. and the Center for the Promotion of Thai Language and Thai Culture Teaching Abroad, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University.

          The 42nd cohort of volunteer teachers of Wat Thai Washington, D.C. for the 2026 academic year comprises three Summer School Program volunteer teachers: Ms. Jamjarn Wattanapong, Ms. Thitinan Supanya and Ms. Chanida Sriboonya; and three one-year volunteer teachers: Ms. Kanvara Pooltawee, Ms. Natthinan Thanakornwat and Ms. Pasita Ongsaeng.
