If your business is going green, Thailand has a home for it. The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand will co-develop an industrial estate for businesses engaged in the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy as the Kingdom invests in its transformation to a greener and more sustainable model of development.

The $23.3 million LPP Nakhon Sawan industrial estate is situated in Thailand’s agricultural heartland, home to many of the natural raw materials used in bio and green manufacturing. The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) expects the estate to be up and running in 2026 and create over 4,500 jobs.

“We expect LPP Nakhon Sawan to play a key role in driving the government’s bio-economy policy by taking advantage of agricultural products and the rich biological diversity in the country,” said IEAT Governor Veeris Ammarapala.

“We believe this new industrial estate will receive a good response from investors, strengthening the country’s industrial sector,” he added.

Governor Veeris said he believed the new estate will attract roughly $500 million in new investments.

Central Thailand is rapidly becoming the epicenter of the Kingdom’s BCG transformation. The province, roughly 150 miles north of Bangkok, is also home to the Nakhon Sawan Biocomplex. The Biocomplex is a joint venture by Global Green Chemicals (GGC), the biochemical arm of PTT Global Chemical, and Kaset Thai International Sugar Corporation.

Thailand is the second-largest sugar exporter in the world, and central Thailand is abundant in sugar, rice, cassava, and corn, all of which are building blocks for bio-manufacturing.

GGC recently announced that it has completed the construction of a biopolymer production facility at the Biocomplex, contributing to the effort to reduce plastic pollution.
