Ambassador of Thailand to the United States meets Thai students, Thai Community and U.S. Private Sector in Florida

On 11 January 2026, H.E. Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Ambassador of Thailand to the United States, accompanied by officials from the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C., visited Thai students currently studying at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, Florida. During the visit, the students led the Ambassador and his delegation on a campus tour and shared insights into their academic programs, research activities, and student life at FAU. The Ambassador engaged in a warm and constructive discussion with the students regarding their studies and well-being, and hosted a luncheon for Thai students at Osha Thai and Sushi Bar to offer encouragement and strengthen ties between the Embassy and Thai students in the area.

On 12 January 2026, the Ambassador and delegation met with the representatives of
the Thai community and Friends of Thailand in Orlando, Florida, at Isan Zap Thai Café.
On this occasion, the Ambassador briefed participants on the objectives of the visit to Florida, expressed appreciation to the representatives of the Thai community for their continued support of the Embassy’s mobile consular services, and provided information on overseas voting and participation in Thailand’s election and referendum processes. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views and raise awareness of the political rights and responsibilities of Thai nationals abroad, as well as to listen to feedbacks and recommendations from community representatives, reaffirming the Embassy’s commitment to strengthening engagement and cooperation with the Thai community in Florida.

Furthermore, on 10 January 2026, the Ambassador and delegation had working lunch with Mr. Douglas Evans, President and CEO of Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce, and Executives of companies based in West Palm Beach, Florida. During the meeting, Ambassador Suriya briefed the Chamber of the objective of his visit to Florida, the Thai Government’s key economic priorities and policy direction, and updates on the ongoing Thailand-U.S. trade negotiations. Both sides also exchanged views on ways to further promote business opportunities and strengthen economic cooperation between Thailand and West Palm Beach, as well as the State of Florida.
